Cyprus is to host the women's Beach Volley Challenger event, which takes place this weekend in Paphos.

The tournament will be held in Geroskipou area of the coastal town, with a total of 23 teams from 16 countries participating.

This is the fourth year in a row that the event has been held in Cyprus.

Top seeds of the tournament are Spain's Alejandra Simon and Cristina Hopf, who achieved gold medalist status at the Mediterranean Games two weeks ago in Pescara, followed by Italy`s Cikolari and Monegeti and Brazil`s world champions Barbara Seixas Figueredo and Claudinere Bento Sabin.
